The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce was host to another great Annual Banquet and Meeting. The Chamber reported that they currently represent 454 members. The Chamber continues to see an increase in membership year after year. Another big success this past year was the Chamber ensured over $80,000 stayed in the Dickinson Community through our shop local “Chamber Bucks” program.
This past Tuesday evening there were many people in attendance to thank those who have vested time and dollars into our community. The Chamber presented annual awards to Outgoing Board of Director: Blaine Stockert, Ag Family of the Year: Ridl Farms, Ag Business of the Year: Stone Mill, Inc, Outstanding Educator Business Award: Consolidated Telcom, Educators of the Year: Dickinson Public School: Erwin Vanveldhuizen, Dickinson Catholic School: Kim Stockert, and Dickinson State University: Rebecca Pitkin, HomeTown Pride Award: Roers, Outstanding Chamber Volunteer of the Year: Kathy Himmelspach, Outstanding Community Volunteer of the Year: Jerry Schneider and Past Chamber Board President: Chris Johnson.
The Coalition for Charitable Organizations (COCO) recognized their 2011 Outstanding Philanthropists of the Year. This year’s award recipient was Laurine Engel.
The Mayors Committee on Employment of Persons with Disabilities presented their awards as well. The Personal Achievement award went to Raymond Rayne, Personal Commitment was awarded to Renee Pasch, Employer Recognition went to Dakota Diner and St. Luke’s Home, and the Builder Award went to Able, Inc. and Kuntz Builders.
The Dickinson Area Chamber of Commerce is looking forward to another great year working with our businesses and volunteers.
